Stephen Ministers Care!
Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation, lay caregivers, who receive special training to provide one-on-one confidential Christian care to people in our congregation and community experiencing challenges in life – grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization, disability, job loss, terminal illness, spiritual crisis and many other life difficulties and challenges. Stephen Ministers and care receivers are paired by gender, of women with women, men with men.
The Stephen Ministry logo symbolizes that we all are broken people – and that only Jesus can make us whole.
Stephen Ministers reach out with God’s love to people who are hurting – congregation members and non-members alike.
A Stephen Minister is
A child of God who walks beside someone who is hurting.
A congregation member with caregiving gifts and a kind, compassionate and loving spirit.
A layperson with 50 hours of training in providing high-quality, distinctively Christian care.
A caring Christian friend who listens, prays, cares, supports and encourages.
Someone who meets faithfully each week with a care receiver for as long as there is a need.
